About Us
Welcome!
Our Story
We started Anchored Mental Health Counseling in 2022 and are excited to serve the East Idaho community. The name “Anchored” was chosen because (just like a ship) it’s important to have an anchor through turbulent times. We look forward to doing our part to improve the mental health in the area and hope to provide high-quality resources to weather life’s storms.
Isaac Nelson
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” I believe that the greatest capacities for overcoming challenges in life are found in being able to utilize and increase our strengths. As a counselor, my goal is to help my clients become aware of that power and successfully overcome a variety of mental health and life challenges.
I want to provide my clients with an environment where they can be open about these challenges and be understood. I strive to help my clients develop lifelong patterns of thinking and acting based on what is most important to them and help them live the most rewarding and meaningful life they can.
Through the course of therapy, I help my clients process and work through difficult emotions that inevitably occur in life. I enjoy working with OCD (including scrupulosity or religious OCD), PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression.

Meghan Nelson
Office Administrator/Managing Director
Hi There! I’m very glad to meet you. My main job at Anchored Mental Health Counseling is to provide the framework for a safe, confidential, and relaxing environment for all our clients. With that, I also handle all of the company’s marketing, secretary duties, paperwork, and anything else I can do outside of counseling. My goal is to help our clients’ transition into counseling go as smoothly as possible. If you have any general questions, I’m always happy to answer them!
Although most of my experience has revolved around marketing and communications, I’ve had several wonderful opportunities to work in the mental health field in a supportive capacity. I was part of an organization called “Madison Cares” in Rexburg, Idaho where I worked alongside counselors and social workers to advertise and provide services to the community. I fell in love with the people and the work and I am so excited to use my skills to benefit the local community in a greater capacity. I also took courses on family topics for my electives in college and learned valuable skills. Through the years, I’ve gained a passion for mental health and have grown a desire to help others find support. I’m very glad to be part of this organization and look forward to helping others on their journey to a better life.
